Healing ways to experience yourself through your body
Over 25 years’ exploring yoga, meditation, breathwork and psychological therapies has taught me that my role as a yoga teacher and massage therapist is to offer you new and healing ways to experience yourself through your body – as the beautifully unique person that you are.
I’m not here to tell you what to do, but to create a space where you can listen to your body and discover what works for you – developing a relationship with yourself based on curiosity rather than judgement, and care rather than force.
As part of the process, we pay attention to anatomical alignment, physiological responses, subtle sensations and changes, and how we feel – physically, emotionally and energetically.
We don’t force ourselves into positions or override discomfort and pain. Instead, we listen, adapt and work with what we find, with curiosity and care – discovering how often small adjustments can create more freedom in our bodies and minds.
Over time, we can learn to move – on the mat and in life – in ways that release unnecessary tension and soften patterns of holding that may no longer serve us.
My approach is deeply influenced by the work of professional ballet dancer and yoga teacher Vanda Scaravelli, who encouraged us to explore movement, breath and the intelligence of our own bodies.
With particular attention to the spine as a source of vitality, we use movement to explore how the body can move, breathe and respond with greater freedom and ease.
Alongside this, I’m fascinated by the ongoing study of neuroscience, anatomy, physiology and fascia — fields that continually deepen our understanding of how interconnected the body really is.
This knowledge helps us explore how the relationship between our bones, structure, breath and gravity can create greater support and ease. Rather than holding ourselves up through effort, we can begin to soften into and rise out of gravity, allowing the body to feel lighter, more spacious and more at home in itself.
It’s a lovely feeling.
25* years experience
My work has grown from more than 25 years of exploring yoga, meditation, breathwork and psychological therapies - alongside an ongoing fascination with anatomy, physiology, fascia and neuroscience
Listening more deeply
I offer guidance, support and a different way of experiencing yourself through your body - encouraging curiosity, self-awareness and trust rather than judgement or force
Finding more freedom
I’m interested in how small things can change how we feel: a shift in awareness, a subtle movement or a softer breath. These can create more freedom in our bodies - and how we move through life
Myofascial release and deep tissue massage complement this work, working with the body’s soft tissues, including fascia, muscles and areas of tension.
Finally, my trauma-sensitive approach recognises that everyone’s experience is different, and that there is no single right way to move or inhabit the body. Many of us have experienced difficult, stressful or overwhelming experiences that can shape how we relate to our bodies and part of this work can be healing this.
All sessions create space for you to move at your own pace, listen to your own boundaries and develop a greater sense of safety and trust within your body.
This all reflects what I have found most helpful in my own journey: having enough knowledge to move with confidence and intention, alongside the space and freedom to explore, listen and discover what works for me.
Scaravelli-inspired yoga
Yoga inspired by dancer and yoga teacher Vanda Scaravelli, with a focus on the spine, breath and the natural intelligence of the body. Through gravity, movement and awareness, we explore greater suppleness, ease and freedom of movement, supporting a deeper sense of vitality and connection
Myofascial and deep tissue massage
Therapeutic massage combining myofascial release and deep tissue techniques to ease tension and discomfort, soften patterns of restriction and support healthier posture, mobility and movement – helping you feel more spacious, balanced and settled in your body
My qualifications and experience
Science is evolving at a rapid rate and so is my on personal and professional journey. So I remain curious, reflective and committed to learning – about the body, the nervous system, movement and what it means to truly inhabit ourselves.
