Build strength, improve balance, release tension and restore natural vitality – exploring movement, breath, releasing tension and postural alignment that works with rather than against gravity.

My work brings together anatomical understanding with embodied exploration. Working with movement, breath, sensation and the nervous system, you’ll develop a deeper awareness of how your body functions, explore unhelpful patterns and discover new possibilities for greater ease in movement and perhaps in life.
My trauma-sensitive approach balances precision with curiosity, alignment with adaptability, and strength with flexibility. Rather than forcing your body into predetermined shapes, we take time to understand the intention of movement and explore how to work with your body in an intelligent and sensory way.
This is a path I’m walking too – one of ongoing learning and discovery. Its benefits can extend far beyond the mat, shaping how you move, feel, relate to yourself and meet your world.
‘By softening and honouring who you truly are in each moment, progress often unfolds more quickly – and with far greater ease – than force ever allows.’ Sophie Chamings, Founder

A whole-body approach
Your body is an intricate, interconnected system, constantly adapting and responding to life. How you move, breathe and inhabit it relates to how you feel, how you navigate the world and what becomes possible for you as a result. My work brings together an interest in how the body functions as a whole. I draw on scientific understanding while recognising that every body is individual and that there is always more to discover.
'Since learning with Sophie, I realise how often I was rushing through movements and actually doing some positions unhelpfully! Her approach has changed the way I think about yoga. I’m now much more aware of my posture, and the way I hold myself, and I feel stronger and more confident in my body!' Stef
An ongoing exploration
I’ve spent over 25 years deepening my understanding of the relationship between the body and mind. My own journey shapes my work and I remain curious about the complexity of being human. I believe we can develop a deeper relationship with our bodies through knowledge, attention and experience — not by striving for perfection, but by becoming more aware of how we move, respond and adapt as individuals.
“Our bodies carry our stories, express our needs and reveal patterns that often go unnoticed. By learning to listen to our signals, we can begin to understand and respond to ourselves differently.” Sophie Chamings, Founder

The benefits of a supple spine
My Scaravelli-inspired yoga approach places the spine at the heart of our experience of vitality. When the spine is allowed to lengthen, soften and move freely, it can influence the way the whole body moves and feels - creating a sense of space, ease and…
Trauma-sensitive yoga with Scaravelli
Most of us arrive on the yoga mat carrying experiences that have shaped how we move through the world - from significant events such as loss, accidents or abuse, to the more cumulative effects of chronic stress, pressure or disconnection from our own needs. These…
